Karamu Caves are an amazing limestone cave system based in the heart of Waikato farmland.
View large caverns, see the glowworms, scramble through tunnels and witness amazing formations that are millions of years old. Whether you want to get wet, stay dry, do some squeezes, have a team building experience, or learn something new - there are options for everyone.
Suited for ages 8 and up, reasonable level of fitness required, the Caves are open to visit from November to July.
Trips can run as a full or half day. Can be included as an off-site camp activity.

Karamu JourneyA (sometimes) muddy adventure that will have you trying out some cave scrambles, climbs, squeezes and partake in some ‘lights out’ moments.
A fun and challenging adventure for you and your group, you will come away exhilarated and buzzing about what you have seen and done. This activity is usually run with Karamu Climb and Abseil and is the Caving element of our best adventure day “Karamu Adventure” - climb/abseil/cave. |
